Two Train Daily - From Merced to El Portal making direct connections with
auto stages for Yosemite. A scenic trip by rail thru the Merced Canyon and a
wonderful ride by auto over a sprinkled road to your hotel or camp in the Valley.
Persons desiring to see the BIG TREES should visit YOSEMITE first and there
arrange for the side trip to the Mariposa Grove at a cost of $10.00 for the round trip.
This is by all means the BEST WAY and there is no additional expense necessary for
hotel accommodations enroute.
Excursion Ticket to Yosemite via the Yosemite Valley Railroad are on sale at
all
Southern Pacific and Santa Fe ticket offices.
Automobiles $12.50
For the accommodation of private automobile parties desiring to avoid
strenuous mountain roads approaching Yosemite and consequent wear and tear on
car, automobiles are carried on passenger trains from Merced to El Portal and vice
versa at rate of $12,50 each way. Arrangements for this service should be made in
advance by telephoning the Y.V.R.R. Agent at Merced or El Portal.
