"A plant for crushing rock (for use on streets and in making concrete) is to be established on the line of the Yosemite Valley railroad between Pleasant Valley and Bagby, by a company headed by S.D. Prather; and it expected that the works will be in operation within six months. Machinery has been purchased. An investment of about $35,000 will be made for the plant, and twenty-five men will be employed. This establishment will be in a position to furnish crushed rock for San Joaquin Valley towns cheaper than such material can be obtained elsewhere."
