YOSEMITE LAND BILL IS SIGNED

      Lawrence C. Merriam, acting superintendent of Yosemite National park, today said he was not authorized to comment on plan for inclusion of 7000 acres of sugar pine land into Yosemite park.

      It was confirmed here today by United Press President Roosevelt has signed the McAdoo bill giving Secretary of the Interior Harold L. Ickes power to acquire the land formerly was in the park but which was taken out when the boundaries were changed to permit the Yosemite Valley railroad to go to El Portal in 1902.

      The wire report was unable to furnish any information on what steps have been taken toward the purchase.
